Space Chase

Space Chase is a 2.5D game where the player must avoid asteroids while collecting stars (regular stars and star coins for purchasing items). There are also 3 power ups that can be used to aid the player in this objective. The left and right booster of the character’s jet pack can be activated individually to add force on either side thereby spinning the character and changing their direction. The left and right booster can also be activated together which will cause the forces to balance out and propel the character forwards.
This was the first major project I have completed independent from any group, online course or university assignment. By going out of my comfort zone to create a fully working game from scratch, I was able to bring together all the Unity skills and knowledge I had gathered up to this point. Completing this project has also allowed me to learn many new skills through the necessity of finding solutions to the problems I faced throughout and I am now a lot more confident in my understanding of the Unity Engine.
In the future I plan to add the following features:

Touch controls for a mobile release.

More content for the player to purchase with stars.

A system to gain streaks (e.g. collect 3 regular stars within 10 seconds of each other) that rewards the player with star coins. This is to incentivise the player to carry on collecting regular stars after hitting the high scores they need to unlock content.
